The Moebius

[Synthesis]

The Moebius, a tribute to Improv Everywhere.

This is best pulled with a group of 6-10 people at the most.

Venue, a busy coffee shop, or smaller area with a captive audience. You need the same group of people for the entirety of the prank.

Scenario: Several agents take their places as customers. Prank begins. Several key events need to happen repeatedly, at 5 minute intervals for a minimum of 1 hour. 12 repetitions.

Time repeats every 5 minutes. Two people enter and stand in line, usually a couple. Break into an argument. One storms out, the other follows calling their name. Event repeats exactly 5 minutes after the initial event began.

Various other agents in various locations also begin to repeat time.
A phone rings every cycle at the same time, the same conversation occurs.

Someone else drops something each cycle. Bends to pick it up. Someone sneezes each cycle.

The point is, none of the agents seem o know each other. If someone asks what's up, you are normal, and you do not realize that time is repeating for you.

This can be assembled and ad-libbed in a short time. Once you have the first repetition down, use it the same each time.

If something steps in and changes for you, such as someone at the door, hold it for them, EACH TIME after that.

Hi folks. I went to the World Freeze Time event at Southdale and have been inactive since then, which I regret.

I would like to take on this event. Once it's "scripted" once, it can repeat - pretty easily - with different players and at different venues, whenever someone wants to take it on.

If I can get commitments from 10 people to perform this on a weekday evening (probably a Tuesday or Wednesday) in October in Minneapolis (location, of course, TBA), then I am happy to take primary responsibility for making it happen.

I would want special help with video/photo and publicizing it afterwards.

...We could even have it be a semi-regular occurrence - every other Wednesday (or whatever) at a coffeeshop, bar, or other venue. .....

I agree with the posts in Future of Plan B - and urban playgrounds are important enough for me to also say, "Goonies never say die!"

Great! If you want to write up a script, I am able to do some video work on week nights... The later the better, I have Classes at night till 9... but I can skip out early.

Let me know if you want to do this soon! There is also a member here who has some great little audio recorders so that way we can use audio along with it! I think total for the group we have 3 mics for people to wear.
